We celebrate the life of Ernest Burke – not only as a member of the Negro League and long-time baseball player, but for his character, his desire to talk with young people and to encourage them to not just stay in school, but to believe in their dreams and go after them. Tony shares a bit about this very side of his personal friend and how much he loved Havre de Grace. What an amazing example for us to follow today!
We can’t thank Tony enough for supporting our mission – to build a statue and place it in a public location to commemorate a native son of Havre de Grace and a fine example of a humanitarian. We hope you’re enjoy our series: Ernest Burke – the HIT of Havre de Grace
